Barbara Skuczik was born in Poland, before moving as a young child to be educated in Germany. In 1996 she continued her education in England, and has since worked and lived in both Europe and Asia. With large stints working as a textile and accessories designer in both Paris and Hong Kong, Barbara is a truly international designer with a wealth of global industry experience.

Barbara graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2001 in textiles and fashion, she then went on to be commissioned as a textile designer, specializing in producing printed fabrics and show pieces for Martine Sitbon,NewYorkIndustrie, Shanghai Tang to name but a few. Due to wide spread success, Barbara then went on to sell her textile designs directly to such luminaries as Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Diane von Furstenberg and Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, and showing her dexterity as a designer and commercial market awareness Barbara also produced textile ranges for DKNY, Victoria's Secret and London's infamous Top Shop

Barbara also has a long standing passion and eye for accessories, and after assisting renowned Judy Blame with his accessory range as well as designing accessories collections for Comme des Garcons, Louis Vuitton and Gareth Pugh she went on to create her own accessories range in 2005. Inspired by her textile and print roots her accessories have a crafty and delicate quality, which results in each piece being uniquely printed and embroidered by hand. Barbara's collections are sold exclusively at Maria Luisa, Paris.

As well as designing textiles and accessories, Barbara is also a highly sought after illustrator, and her romantic and whimsical illustrations have been used by Crabtree & Evelyn; for whom she designed a world wide selling packaging range, as well as Lane Crawford (Hong Kong) who commissioned illustrations advertising Mac cosmetics and Jemma Kid beauty products.
